Honda Readies New Super EV Concept for Goodwood Festival of Speed

Honda at Goodwood: Magic of the Movies

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is just a few weeks away, and automakers are starting to tease their reveals for the four-day extravaganza. For Honda, the theme for its display in West Sussex is “Magic of the Movies,” where its stand will be designed like a film set, offering interactive experiences that highlight its products and history through cinematic storytelling.

But perhaps Honda’s biggest news is the global debut of a new, all-electric concept vehicle called the Super EV Concept that will partake in the hill climb shootout. But before you get too excited, Honda has given us a sneak peek through a camouflaged prototype.

Super EV Concept Is a “Fun-to-Drive” City Car

Yes, the Super EV Concept is a city car – an A-segment model, designed to “offer fresh, ‘fun-to-drive’ electric performance alongside trademark Honda usability.” The purple wrap is, of course, a way to conceal the overall styling, as Honda said that it has already tested the new concept in the UK.

Of note, the automaker has confirmed that the Super EV Concept is part of a “wider global program,” hinting at the possibility of a production model to be sold worldwide.

Apart from the Super EV Concept, Honda will also host the dynamic debut of the all-new, US-bound Prelude e:HEV, which will premiere the automaker’s new S+ Shift system, designed for its upcoming improved hybrid system. The Civic Type R Ultimate Edition, the last hurrah of the front-wheel-drive hot hatch, is also making a climb up the hills.

Honda Celebrates 60 Years Since First F1 Win

Apart from the aforementioned cars, Honda will also host the European debut of the 0 SUV Prototype, which will be displayed for the first time after its debut at CES in Las Vegas.

Other concepts and motorcycles will also be displayed, but perhaps the most exciting part is that the Williams FW11 Formula One car from 1986, powered by the 1,500-horsepower Honda RA166E V6 Turbo, will also make a run up the hills of Goodwood with the legendary Nigel Mansell at the helm. This will celebrate 60 years since Honda’s first F1 win and first Constructors’ Championship.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is happening on July 10-13, 2025, so it’s only a few weeks away. We expect more brands to announce their participation and tease their launches, as Hyundai did with its upcoming Ioniq 6 N.
